ABOUT THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

Cherri N. Allison, Esq. is the Executive Director at FVLC. A lifetime resident of Oakland, Ms. Allison has more than 7 years of legal non-profit management experience. Ms. Allison also has over 12 years of experience as a family law attorney. Prior to coming to FVLC, Ms. Allison was the Director of Programs at the Alameda County Bar Association. In addition to Ms. Allison's expertise in non-profit management, she has experience in board development, program development, grant writing and investments. She currently serves as the President of the Board for the Women Lawyers of Alameda County, is a former member of the FVLC Board, and is a member of the California Alliance Against Domestic Violence and the Charles Houston Bar Association.

Shannon Ellis is the Associate Executive Director of FVLC, and brings more than 10 years of non-profit administrative experience to the agency. Ms. Ellis started working with domestic violence causes as a crisis line counselor in 1994, and has remained dedicated to family violence work ever since. Ms. Ellis holds a Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, and a Masters in Non-profit Administration from the University of San Francisco. Ms. Ellis deeply believes that a strong non-profit organization requires strong, cared for workers. Since joining FVLC in 2000, she has worked to improve employee benefit packages, upgrade technological systems, and encourage agency-wide involvement in planning for and working toward FVLC’s future.
