Crisis Intervention and Support

Our trained, compassionate advocates are available 24/7 to provide you:

  • Crisis intervention
  • Safety planning
  • Meaningful referrals to counseling and other supportive services.

All services are available in any language through an interpreter, and all conversations are confidential.

Legal Services

We provide free legal services in restraining order and limited family law matters for domestic violence victims in Alameda County. With lawyers on staff, Family Violence Law Center is well-equipped to guide victims through the court systems.

We work with people who need help with:

  • Domestic Violence Prevention Act restraining orders
  • Child custody filings (as attached to a domestic violence restraining order)
  • Visitation requests (as attached to a domestic violence restraining order)

Policy

Family Violence Law Center’s policy team uses an intersectional gender and race equity approach to advocate for survivors and their families in areas like housing and criminal justice reform. We work collaboratively with other organizations and welcome requests for partnership.

Youth Programs

We believe that educating the next generation about healthy relationships helps end domestic violence.

Family Violence Law Center offers a Relationship Abuse Prevention (RAP) Program to educate, engage, and empower teens in Alameda County to build healthy relationships and a free therapy program for children ages 5 and under who have been exposed to or are victims of domestic violence in Oakland.
